During the Cold War, in the event of a nuclear attack on the United Kingdom, this bunker would have broadcast the "Attack Warning Red" message to Carrier Control Points, the Armed Forces and the BBC who would have broadcast it to the public through the WTBS(Wartime Broadcasting Service). This would have mean't the apocalypse was on its way and many would have been hoping that the next four minutes would be their last.
Today the UKWMO ( United Kingdom Warning and Monitoring Organisation) National HQ in Preston sits partly stripped of its assets and overgrown. The above ground buildings are now a veterinary surgery, the masts around the site are now used by telecommunication companies and other satelite bunkers lie stripped, open and decaying. But thankfully these multi-million pound pieces of concrete were constructed but never had to do their jobs, the UK countryside is littered with throw-backs of the Cold War, from tiny ROC (Royal Observer Corps) posts to the bigger AAOR's (Anti-Aircraft Operations Room) to huge sites like Burlington and the quarries around Corsham in Wiltshire.
Luckily for the world neither East nor West pushed the button and the balloon never went up, but how close did we really come to being vapourized or imprisioned in a life of radiation sickness and cancerous illness'?
A great shot - brings out the message really well! ^^

Far away will our eyes now see the day
For today, the everlasting eternal sun
Washed away the dreams of a brighter day
Forever hold the dream inside the chance to fight another fight
The breaking hearts that stand for all our lives

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Our new suddenly doujinshi circle: カポリット屋 will release another collaboration title next year and since we already decided that our next fandom would be focusing with Sweet Pool title~ We decided to make a fan art contest in order to celebrate and encourage you guys to keep supporting us~XD

This is quite a valuable resource that explains in depth what a photography term means, and will help those understand who might not know what something is.
